Why we created Effektiv.

WebAlive has always been a broad business — websites, e-commerce, SEO, hosting, marketing, and increasingly, custom web application development. Over time, the application development side has grown substantially and become the primary commercial focus of the business. That's a natural evolution, and it's the right direction for WebAlive as a company. But as that focus shifted, it became harder to give every part of the client base the attention it deserved. The clients who need websites, hosting, SEO, and online marketing — small businesses across Australia who want a reliable partner to keep their digital presence in good shape — were being served by a business whose commercial attention was increasingly elsewhere. "We didn't want to quietly deprioritise clients who had been with us for years. So we built something new, specifically for them." Effektiv Solutions Pty Ltd — trading as Effektiv — is a new entity, but it is not a new team. The people behind Effektiv are key WebAlive employees and principals who have been part of WebAlive's client-facing delivery for years. The move to Effektiv is a refocusing, not a restart. Every site on a Hosting and Maintenance plan will continue to receive: WordPress is open source software, which means it requires active, ongoing maintenance to stay secure. Plugins are updated constantly, security vulnerabilities are discovered regularly, and without someone managing that process, a website can quietly become both a security liability and a performance problem. That's the work we do — and it doesn't change.

Your site stays live and we're not going anywhere. But we do want to have an honest conversation with you about what hosting-only means in practice.
